A prospect stays a prospect on games played alone — NHL games under his class cap (83 skater / 40 goalie for the 2025-or-later class, 42 / 25 for 2024-and-earlier). Age no longer gates prospect eligibility for anyone, and goalies have no age test at all. Age decides one thing: whether a man may also fill a rookie keeper slot — forwards 21 and under, defence and goalies 22 and under. A golden prospect needs a 2025-or-later draft year and nothing else. The workbook's OVERRIDE column beats every rule above and is used only where the league has ruled on a named player.

Anthony’s ruling · Aug 2026
Sykora / Lekkerimäki / Kemell / Danielson — all four are 21 on the final regular season game and 22 on opening day, and he ruled all four out at 22. Rules C22 still reads "final regular season game" and is stale.

The single source for every prospect and rookie test. Prospects Master reads this table — change a rule here, never inside a formula.

Rows are floors: a draft year is matched to the last row it is greater than or equal to. Blank G CEILING = goalies have no age test for prospect status.

Age gate reinstated for 2022 and earlier per Anthony, Aug 2026: "the year they were drafted there was an age eligibility of 21". Removed from the 2023 class onward: "in the year he was drafted we took out the age eligibility".

Goalies sit with defence here at 22 — unlike the prospect gate, where they have no age test at all (Rules C21, FAQ C171).

Anthony, Aug 2026, ruling on Sykora / Lekkerimäki / Kemell / Danielson — all four are 21 on the final regular season game and 22 on opening day, and he ruled all four out at 22. Rules C22 still reads "final regular season game" and is stale.
